Lost is Found, a pop-up exhibition

International Flight (Stella), 2019, oil on paper, 27 cm x 35 cm

Lost is Found is a pop-up exhibition to merge the launch of debut single by artist Its All Roses with an art exhibition and to show the interconnection between various artists. Its All Roses collaborated with Chloe Kelly, Dominik Zarówny, and Fabio Coverini.

I had just finished a painting, International Flight (Stella), earlier that week; and it felt like a good time for it to be shared. Thanks for including me!

About International Flight (Stella)

They say that when you’re flying, you’re more likely to think about death. Maybe that is because you’re in between, because you’re thousands of feet above the ground, because you’re trapped with hundreds of strangers. I love losing myself in quiet, in books, in movies, in my sketchbook, in writing. Once I’ve put in my earplugs, my solitude is impervious amongst the clouds, endless cerulean, and the stars. I’m autonomous. International flights and international waters mean imaginary boundaries like states and borders are meaningless—like how ocean melts into fog into sky. Then we land. I clutch my American passport; and then I grumble as I attempt to cross yet another border. Why would a Navajo woman move even farther from home? How many times does she need to prove that she belongs? On the flight I can pretend to be stateless, have a free beer, and leave my lipstick mark. I mark myself in a moment that’s already gone, in a place that’s not a place.
